Brutalist Architecture: Pacific Life

IMG_1056-Edit-1

Designed by architects William L. Pereira & Associates, the Pacific Life headquarters building in Newport Beach opened to employees in the spring of 1973.

The 238,000 square-foot building features a cantilevered five-story design, set on an open ten-acre lot that could hold as many people and operations as a traditional 18-story office building. Today, it is considered one of the best examples of the “Brutalist” style of architecture, and a favorite landmark among locals.
